Video: Latimer Sizes Up First Year As Westchester County Executive

Westchester County Executive George Latimer has summarized his first year in office and voiced new year’s resolutions through a statement and video.

In the video, Latimer discusses his history working for the government and highlights the elements he feels create a “successful year,” namely, motivation and morale.

“There was a direction to the county that I wanted to change," he said. "I wanted to see the morale of the county employees raised. I wanted to see them energized because many of them are here for years because they love what they do. ... I think we’ve turned the corner a bit with that.”

Similarly, Latimer’s New Year’s resolution statement showed gratitude to all of this year’s “hard work” from Administration employees.

“My New Year’s Resolution for Westchester County Government is to continue the hard work our administration is putting in to get our finances back on the path toward fiscal solvency. It was our biggest goal heading into office and I am motivated and committed to continue our progress.”
